It is sad to see all the stereotypes in the world. Being in the business that I am in I get to meet of different people. I realize how naive people are. They judge people on what society suggests that people are.
Don’t judge a book by it’s cover!
I met a woman in LA last week that lives in the mid west. We got to talking about tattoos . She went on to say her impression of them. Then she went on about people that had tattoos are kinda rough in personality. Then I explained to her that I myself have several tattoos. That I intend to be a heavily tattooed woman. She was in shock. I had just finished tell her about how I am class mom and a volunteer in the school library. What a Suzie homemaker type of mother I am. I all in one conversation had changed her opinion of tattooed people. Then I made her realize that she prejudges people based on stereotypes. She really couldn’t see it to that extent.
It is sad to think that people aren’t given a fair chance for things based on the way they look. I am grateful that I am who I am . I break barriers of stereotypes. I love stepping up to the challenge . You really have to keep an open mind to make a difference and not get upset or angry when people express their opinion on people. Just put them in someone Else’s shoe for a glimpse of what they face on a daily .
